The NESTLE GNPS-42 is a precise, lightweight and mobile satellite positioning system for point recording and staking out in topography, documentation, construction and volume measurements.

Gottlieb Nestle GmbH began producing surveying equipment in 1956 with alignment rods and levelling staffs. Starting with these products, the range has developed into the most comprehensive range in the entire industry. The demand for customised solutions, particularly for military applications, continued to grow. In the year 2000, the production of special tripods, which require a challenge in terms of robustness and surface treatment, began. This was made possible by many years of expertise, constant new developments and ongoing investment in the expansion of systems and machines.

As early as 1996, the company achieved the important ISO 9001 certification through high quality standards, which, among other things, made it possible to acquire further major customers such as Bosch and Würth.

In 1995, the co-operation in tripod production began with the world's leading manufacturer of precision measuring instruments. As a manufacturer of numerous customer versions, Nestle impressed with its good quality and successively expanded the collaboration over the years.

The modernisation phase from 1990 to 1992 laid the foundations for technological change in metal processing. The latest CNC milling and turning machines and CNC welding robots made it possible to expand the production of high-precision construction and geodesy products such as tripods and prism poles.

The joint venture subsidiary Euro-Geo KFT was founded in Hungary soon after reunification in 1990. Initially with four employees, today there are around 35 employees who primarily produce tripods for surveying equipment.

With the construction of the new production hall, the electronic department was created, in which, in addition to digital angle measuring devices, laser devices for construction measurement in interior and building construction are also produced.

To compensate for the prolonged slump in the construction industry at the time, the company returned to its forestry roots and began producing forestry equipment. It was the first manufacturer ever to produce measuring clamps with hollow aluminium profiles and quickly became the European market leader.

Due to long-term prospects, a decision had to be made in favour of one of the two operating divisions. The decision was made in favour of surveying technology production and log cutting was abandoned.

In the 1960s, the German Federal Railway planned an inventory of its rail network. This presented an opportunity for a new product. The rolling speedometer was produced as standard from 1962. Nestle is still the European market leader in this segment today.

Nestle has always endeavoured to process the cut wood in its own factory for as long as possible. The land consolidation announced by the state opened up the opportunity to start producing alignment rods, measuring rods and levelling rods.

The success story of Gottlieb Nestle GmbH began back in 1933, when Gottlieb Nestle Sr. founded a sawmill and planing mill in Dornstetten. It took a great deal of courage and pioneering spirit to found a company in those difficult times.
